Bill Cosby’s 16th Alleged Rape Victim Comes Forward, ‘At Least’ 12 Women Were Drugged
For Bill Cosby, life is anything but perfect at the moment as he and his legal team gear up to fend off numerous rape allegations leveled at America’s favorite Daddy by at least 16 women.
While Cosby portrayed one kind of person in the form of Dr. Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show, off-screen he partied hard with the likes of Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion, as well as owning a number of night clubs and restaurants which he frequented on a regular basis.
Now, 16 woman have come forward claiming they were molested, drugged, and raped by Bill Cosby decades ago, but have decided only to speak about the incidents decades later.
The Washington Post interviewed five of the alleged rape victims, with accusations being cast that Cosby raped them in a premeditated and organized fashion, and that the incidents didn’t simply happen “spur of the moment.”
The rapes reportedly took place at Cosby’s Hollywood studio bungalow, in a chauffeured limousine, at luxury hotels, and other venues, all under the guise of Cosby saying he would “mentor” the young women in order to propel their acting or modeling careers.
One of Cosby’s attorneys, Martin Singer, issued an official statement on Friday, claiming his client is the subject of an unfounded smear campaign.
“The new, never-before-heard claims from women who have come forward in the past two weeks with unsubstantiated, fantastical stories about things they say occurred 30, 40, or even 50 years ago have escalated far past the point of absurdity. These brand new claims about alleged decades-old events are becoming increasingly ridiculous, and it is completely illogical that so many people would have said nothing, done nothing, and made no reports to law enforcement or asserted civil claims if they thought they had been assaulted over a span of so many years.”
For his part, Cosby also finally responded to the allegations against him, in an interview with Florida Today on Friday.
Cosby said, “I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn’t have to answer to innuendos. People should fact-check. People shouldn’t have to go through that and shouldn’t answer to innuendos.”
Indeed, many of the alleged rapes took place under strange circumstances. For example, the case of model and actress Angela Leslie, who reportedly visited Cosby in a Las Vegas hotel, having sent him a letter and sexy picture of herself.
After Leslie was picked up by one of Cosby’s drivers, she said she checked into her room at the five-star hotel and went to meet with Cosby, a man she idolized greatly. While chatting with him, Cosby allegedly told the woman he was going to give her a spontaneous and impromptu audition to see if she had what it took to make it in Hollywood.
He handed her a stiff drink and told her to “act really drunk,” ordering her to go wet her hair in the bathroom. After doing exactly what he asked of her, she returned to the room to find Bill Cosby naked in bed, waiting for her.
After she joined him in the bed, without any force or violence on his part, he took her hand, according to her, filled it with lotion and used it to masturbate himself.
Questions have of course been raised as to why the woman agreed to get into bed with a naked Cosby. Now that 16 women have come forward with similar allegations, it seems that this may well be a case of “no smoke without fire,” as Bill Cosby and his legal team prepare for an epic court battle to defend against the allegations.
