Lily Allen gives birth to a baby girl
Looks like Piers Morgan won’t be the only English celebrity to celebrate the birth of a baby girl this week – pop star Lily Allen and her husband, Sam Cooper, welcomed a baby girl on Friday, according to tweets from close friends of the star.
“sending out love to lily, sam and mini cooper…… YES,” wrote Sam Chew, a friend of the couple, on Twitter. Charlie Candou also confirmed the news on Twitter, adding in that the new addition to the family was a baby girl.
The daughter is the couple’s first child since their wedding in June of this year at St. James the Great church in Glocestershire, England. The couple have yet to reveal the little girl’s name, and her U.K. rep declined to comment on the news.
The singer had to endure a series of hardships over the past several years, so she is undoubtedly feeling very blessed right about now. Allen, 26, miscarried her first pregnancy in 2008 when she was dating British musician Ed Simons. She also tragically lost her baby boy in 2010 six months into her pregnancy after contracting a viral infection.
