Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez & Kendall Jenner Rumors Reach Peak Absurdity
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez haven’t been a couple since late September, yet tabloids are still coming up with ways to drag Kendall Jenner into the picture.
Are Beliebers and Selenators dumb enough to believe the latest batch of rumors offered by yet another nameless source?
That all depends on how old you are, and if you believe every gossip website or magazine really does have genuine sources with access to the private goings-on of celebrities, 365 days a year.
Enter Ok! Magazine.
According to the tabloid, even though Kendall has never dated Justin, the model has been shading Selena by telling their mutual pals that the “Confident” singer “never loved” his on-off girlfriend. It’s claimed Jenner is going out of her way to make sure the Rudderless star knows this.
And the reason for Kendall’s alleged shenanigans? Apparently, it’s all part of her evil plan to sabotage Justin and Selena’s relationship because her momager Kris Jenner allegedly wants/wanted to manage the former Disney starlet.
This is the same Kendall that Selena told radio/TV host Ryan Seacrest she was “never not friends with,” and Selena sang Happy Birthday to a few weeks ago for Jenner’s 19th.
While Kris Jenner did publicly compliment Selena as a “triple threat,” the Latina starlet is in fact already managed by Aleen Keshishian at Brillstein Entertainment Partners and is not thought to be looking elsewhere.
OK! magazine wasn’t done with its “insights.” Allegedly, Kendall has been telling everyone that Jelena were never a real couple and it was all a “publicity arrangement.”
Anyone who has watched Justin and Selena’s on-off romance from 2010 until now, would probably find it hard to believe the former couple kept coming back together for publicity.
Although it looks like Jelena are now well and truly over, there seemed to be a great deal of feeling between the former couple in the past.
So why are these rumors surfacing? It’s simple really. Gossip feeds on sensationalism and traffic.
So, if you put three big names like Bieber, Gomez and Jenner in one story and throw in an outrageous claim, people will read it. They might even believe it. Rumors are powered by repetition. Which means, as more outlets pick up on a story, the more a reader will believe a story must have some truth to it.
Step forward Hollywood Life.
After days of “Exclusives!” from an apparent source claiming Justin believes he is Selena’s “only one,” the gossip site went on to state,
“Selena’s pretty much at Justin’s mercy. He’s got her so twisted up in his madness it’s not even funny. She’s knee deep in Justin’s quick sand and sinking faster and faster in it as the days go by.”
However, during Gomez’s recent American Music Awards performance of her Bieber-epic, “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” her tweak of the lyric at the end of the song to “I thought you were the one” suggests she has drawn a line under her relationship and moved on.
More absurd claims followed from Hollywood Life, after their story that Bieber intended to “surprise” at the American Music Awards didn’t happen.
In fact, Bieber jetted to New York City on the eve of the AMAs and was spotted attending Hillsong NYC Church by multiple witnesses.
The site is now citing a so-called source who claims Bieber’s reaction to Selena singing about their ended romance in “The Heart Wants What It Wants” at the AMAs, was anger.
“Justin thinks Selena was exploiting their relationship by being so dramatic on stage and making it seem like he’s the heartbreaker in all of this,” the gossip outlet claims.
However, an insider known to Justin and Selena has slammed that claim as a fabrication, telling the Inquisitr,
“As an artist himself, Justin expects Selena to promote her music just as he promotes his own,” said our source. “And as Selena said before, he thinks her new song is ‘beautiful.'”
The insider then said of Bieber, “He does not think Ms. Gomez exploited their relationship, and any communications they have are private. There are no sources listening in on them then running to the press. This is just a malicious lie.”
On Tuesday, Austin Mahone slammed Hollywood Life as “ridiculous” for making up a story about the reason for his split from Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello.
Perhaps media outlets who routinely cite the website will rethink using them as a credible source?
@HollywoodLife that’s the most ridiculous reason I’ve ever heard… Nothing like that even happened at all. Idk what source u guys talking 2
