Second Source: Justin Bieber Isn’t Going To ‘Surprise’ Selena Gomez At AMAs [Updated]
Update: According to Bieber’s latest Instagram, he jetted out of L.A. on Saturday, (Nov. 23).
Original report:
A new claim that Justin Bieber intends to “surprise” Selena Gomez and attempt to “win her back” at the 2014 American Music Awards this weekend is not true, a second source tells the Inquisitr.
Gomez is set to perform her stunning single “The Heart Wants What It Wants” live for the first time during the show.
Hollywood Life alleges Bieber is “planning to surprise Selena at the awards to try and win her back.”
The gossip website, which is notorious for swamping the news cycle with ridiculous and frequently contradictory stories — and which Gomez previously described as “never true” — claims an insider said Bieber, “feels like that’s the only thing that will make him happy.”
According to this so-called source, the 20-year-old Canadian recently returned from a brief break in Rancho Mirage, near Palm Springs, to carry out his grand gesture at the AMAs.
“He came back to LA because he wants to see Selena,” said an alleged mole, according to Hollywood Life.
“He’s even talking about showing up at the AMAs to see her. No one on his team thinks that’s a good idea but Justin’s going to do what he wants to do.”
It is also claimed Bieber is “struggling big time,” but is “convinced” that if he sees Gomez “they can work it out. But so far she’s shutting him out completely.”
However, despite Hollywood Life’s seemingly never-ending supply of sources with access to Bieber and Gomez, the claim that the “Confident” singer plans to have a showdown with Selena at the AMAs is pure fiction.
An insider close to Bieber’s team told the Inquisitr, “Justin will not be attending this year’s AMAs, and has no plans to ‘surprise’ anyone at the event.”
A second source known to both parties added, “Justin never intended to go to AMAs this year. Nothing has changed.”
Hollywood Life is, of course, well known for peddling stories that are inane, sensationalist, and totally baseless.
The site’s endless Gomez-Swift “feud” stories, a case in point.
Even without the sources’ firm denial that Bieber is planning to attend the American Music Awards and “surprise” Gomez, it should be abundantly clear to most that Hollywood Life is not a credible outlet for insider information.
When Bieber doesn’t show at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on November 23, no doubt the site will run a new set of stories claiming either his team, Gomez’s camp, or the actress-singer “banned” him from attending.
Meanwhile, some of the seating arrangements have been revealed ahead of AMAs. Not at all surprisingly Selena will be sitting next to her pal Taylor Swift, who is also performing on the night.
Bieber hasn’t been added to the seating arrangements, for all the reasons stated above.
For her part, Selena Gomez posted a cute video of herself with “Heart” producers/writers, Rock Mafia, amid preparations for her big moment at the 2014 AMAs.
“Eeeeekkkk #AMAs,” the pop princess wrote by the clip which she shared on Thursday.
To recap: Justin isn’t going to the American Music Awards ceremony this year and has no plans to surprise Selena on the night.
