Beyonce And Jay-Z Breaking Up? Her New Song Sparks New Rumors
Could Beyonce and Jay-Z finally be splitting up?
The lyrics from one of her new songs, “Ring Off,” reportedly have sparked a new batch of rumors and allegations claiming that there is trouble in paradise for the power couple.
“You smile through the tears. In the mirror, you would stare and say a prayer like, ‘I wish he said I’m beautiful.'”
As the song continues, the lyrics start to focus more on personal feelings (such as confusion) and the reflection on a relationship that was once good but not anymore.
“I wish it didn’t hurt at all… I don’t know how I got here. I was once the one who had his heart. Until you had enough. Then you took that ring off …. So tired of the lies and trying and fighting and crying. You took that finger.”
Keep in mind that Beyonce and Jay-Z decided to go the non-traditional route and get wedding ring tattoos on their fingers when they got married.
Radar Online reports that it appeared Beyonce was getting her tattoo removed with lasers, which helped to fuel the divorce allegations that surfaced during the couple’s blockbuster “On The Run” tour this past summer.
In the past, there have been many different things that sparked Beyonce and Jay-Z divorce rumors as well as things that squashed those rumors.
For instance, Beyonce made headlines when she decided to change the lyrics of her song, “Resentment” on tour and even became very emotional during a performance of that song at the Pasadena Rose Bowl.
There was also the incident earlier this year when Beyonce’s little sister, Solange Knowles, attacked Jay-Z in an elevator.
On the other side of the continuously-turning Rumor Mill are the few things that have squashed those divorce rumors – such as the well-chosen pictures that have been posted on Beyonce’s official Instagram page as well as her acceptance speech for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.
Beyonce even made light of the elevator incident by referencing it in a lyric from her “Flawless” remix featuring Nicki Minaj.
Perhaps Beyonce and Jay-Z prefer to keep their fans and critics guessing. Beyonce’s own father expressed his thoughts when he said that the divorce rumors were just a “Jedi mind trick” to boost ticket sales for their summer tour.
According to an MTV News report from 2008 about an interview with Beyonce, not coming forward and publicly speaking about her marriage (whether confirming or denying rumors) keeps the 33-year-old singer in control.
“[Not speaking] controls your brand. It controls what you want to put out there and kind of forces people to talk about what you want them to talk about.”
