Watch An Animation Of Skyscraper: The World’s Tallest Roller Coaster, Opening 2017

Earlier this summer, Inquisitr writer Jan Omega reported on plans for the world’s tallest roller coaster, which will be built in Orlando and is set to open in 2017. Now, animated video of the roller coaster is available and it doesn’t disappoint.

Skyscraper, as the roller coaster is being called, will not be part of Orlando’s major theme parks like Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando. Rather, it’s being built as part of a development at Orlando’s International Drive and Sand Lake Road, called Skyplex, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Although the Skyscraper coaster will be Skyplex’s main attraction, the 495,000 square foot development will feature “upscale arcading,” retail shops, simulators, and rock climbing walls. But the feature attraction will be the coaster itself, says Michael Kitchen, president of US Thrill Rides.

“Skyscraper will not only take riders higher than ever before, but also introduce one thrill right after the next — there’s no ‘down time’ on this four-minute coaster experience. It is an absolute cutting-edge engineering marvel that will deliver pure adrenaline unlike any roller coaster in the world today.”

But don’t expect a 500-foot vertical drop from the world’s tallest roller coaster. Instead, Skyscraper will twist, turn, and loop as it makes its way toward the ground.

And if you’re not interested in experiencing the roller coaster but would prefer to watch others scream in terror as they descend 500 feet towards the ground, there will be an observation deck at the top of the tower.

Currently, the record for World’s Tallest Roller Coaster belongs to Kingda Ka (456 feet), which you can ride at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.
