One Direction To Lose Member? Solo Rumors Emerge
Rumors have started to emerge that a member of One Direction might be leaving the group to start his own solo career.
The Hollywood Life was the first publication to speculate that Zayn Malik’s non-appearance on the Today Show on Monday was actually because he is set to leave the pop behemoths.
At the moment, though, this is merely speculation as the website didn’t even name a source but instead used various tweets to try and back up their claim.

One Direction’s army of fans shouldn’t be too concerned about Zayn Malik’s no-show yesterday though. The singer didn’t perform on the morning program because he had a “tummy bug,” according to his band-mate Liam Payne. Malik later released a statement confirming that he hadn’t flown to America because of his illness.
However, there have been previous stories that Malik might be tempted to leave the group in order to move on to new musical pastures. Last month, rumors started to emerge that Zayn Malik was set to work on a track for an upcoming Bollywood movie.
The Mirror [via E! Online] reported that the 21-year-old had actually been offered the astronomical sum of half a million dollars to record just one song for the film. The studio and producers behind the project believed that his involvement would almost certainly attract a huge audience to watch the picture.
“One Direction has a huge following among the youth, especially in major cities. Zayn Malik is very well-known in that circle and holds tremendous promise if given the right break in a Bollywood film.”
The insider also then went on to declare that the former X-Factor contestant could turn into a movie star, too. They claimed that one production company is even lining up a deal that will see Zayn Malik offered the opportunity to make his acting debut.
“One very big production company is putting together an offer for him to act as well as sing. He has turned down one song so far but if the right one comes along it could be great for him.”
