Ellen DeGeneres And Portia De Rossi Divorce: Newly Sober Portia Wants To Split, But Ellen Fears Hit To Her Net Worth

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are once again facing divorce rumors, with new reports that a clean and sober Portia is ready to make a split.

For several months the Hollywood power couple faced rumors of an impending split, with reports claiming that Ellen’s controlling ways and alleged affairs had driven Portia away. But in recent weeks it seemed as if the couple had made it through the marital problems, with sources saying they had worked out their problems.

Now new reports indicate more trouble for Ellen and Portia. A source told OK! Magazine that Portia gained a new perspective on the relationship when she got sober.

“They haven’t been happy for years… Now that she’s sober, Portia realizes how unhappy she was, and she resents Ellen,” the source said. “Now that Portia is standing on her own two feet, Ellen feels like she doesn’t need her anymore.”

But Ellen DeGeneres is reportedly trying to get Portia to change her mind — at least for a little while. The comedienne and television host reportedly had a goal to build a media empire rivaling Oprah Winfrey, and knows that a divorce could put all of that in jeopardy.

Amid the reports of divorce, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are at least maintaining the image of a strong marriage. This week the couple put out a gag Christmas card spoofing the infamous Kim Kardashian magazine cover.

Making fun of Kim has become something of a Christmas tradition for Ellen and Portia. Last year they put out a Christmas card with their faces photoshopped onto Kim and her husband Kanye West from Kanye’s music video for “Bound 2.”

If Ellen DeGenres and Portia de Rossi are truly headed for a divorce, then they’re doing a very good job of covering it up.
