Tom Felton Pranks Rupert Grint By Posing As A ‘Harry Potter’ Fan
Tom Felton, who played the character of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films may be a bully in the movies, but he and Rupert Grint a.k.a. Ron Weasley get along pretty well in real life.
Rupert Grint, as reported by Inquisitr, is busy with his Broadway show entitled It’s Only a Play where he appears alongside other renowned actors including Stockard Channing, Nathan Lane, and Matthew Broderick. Not only was Felton there to support Grint, he also had a prank ready for his longtime friend.
Felton knew that there would be a group of Harry Potter fans waiting outside the theater after the show, so he decided to go in disguise posing as “Bob” wearing glasses, a black wig, a hat, and a plaid coat. He was also wearing a camera around his neck, ready to take a picture with the actor. He waited outside the theater with other fans, hoping to get a selfie with Grint. A friend of the actors said that Felton and Grint have long been playing tricks on each other, Mirror UK reports.
“Tom was in disguise to pull a prank on Rupert. The pair have a long history of playing pranks on each other on the set and off. Eventually Tom revealed himself to Rupert. It was hilarious.”
When Grint appeared, Felton started asking to take a photo with him. According to Vanity Fair, Felton wore the disguise to blend into the thick crowd, but Harry Potter fans knew him too well to be tricked and a few fans even posted an image of “Bob” on Instagram.
One time, Grint pranked Felton by attending the premiere of his movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes by wearing a shirt that says, “I ? Tom Felton.” In turn, Felton wore a shirt that read “I ? Ron Weasley” to a different event.
It’s Only a Play was a great opportunity for Felton to carry out his prank. One of the people backstage at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, where the play was held, said that of all the actors in the show, Grint has the biggest fans showing up after each show. The insider also said that some fans even wait outside several times a week just so they can get a picture with the actor.
After pranking his friend on Thursday night, Felton went on to see the show on Saturday.
