Italian Sex Goddess Sophia Loren’s 80 Is New 60
Academy Award-winning Italian actress, Sophia Loren, still makes people turn their heads at the mere mention of her name. Loren hit the 80-year-old mark September 20, but hasn’t slowed down enough to let people notice, yet.
ABC News writes that Sophia admits to indulging in a little nip and tuck here and there, but who cares? Sophia Loren did, however, draw the line and threaten to leave Hollywood when her late husband, Carlo Ponti, mentioned that the cameraman had complained about her nose! Seriously? That’s the last place most men focused on with the raven-haired beauty.
Loren responded to the insult by saying, “Listen, I don’t want to touch nothing on my face because I like my face. If I have to change my nose, I am going back to Pozzuoli.”
The Inquisitr reports that Loren is about to release her memoir on December 2. Sophia Loren tells all with a loving intent, including her first-hand account of Richard Burton’s alcohol addiction, and how his disease ultimately caused the permanent split between he and Elizabeth Taylor as well as his early death. We’ll just have to buy a copy of Sophia Lorens’ Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow: My Life as a Fairy Tale, to learn more.
Anyone who has made it to the top of their game in the ultra-competitive world of show business adheres to the adage that you either self-promote or disappear.
The Daily Mail covered the American Film Institute (AFI) event in Los Angeles, California, that was all about Sophia Loren.
Her younger bombshell namesake, Modern Family superstar and comedian Sofia Vergara, was on board to share in the festivities that honored the veteran actress. Los Angeles Council member Tom LaBonge announced from this day forward November 12 will be known as “Sophia Loren Day.”
Sophia Loren began her acting career at the age of 14, after she lost a beauty pageant; she was a runner-up. She reveals that, as a child, her family was so poor they had to beg for bread crusts on the street.
Originally, Sophia Loren was cast as just another pretty face, but ultimately proved her worth as a serious actress who just happened to be beautiful.
Sophia was cast in leading lady roles from the 1960s with Charlton Heston, Peter Sellers, Clark Gable, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck, and Charlie Chaplin’s final film Countess From Hong Kong with Marlon Brando. Things were just getting warmed up for Sophia Loren.
Sophia Loren won enough awards in the film industry to reserve a permanent place in Who’s Who forever. The recipient of four Golden Globe Awards just nicks the depth of Loren’s personal resume; the actress appeared in nearly 100 movies.
Look for her biography to appear soon — the life and time’s of Sophia Loren will make for a great read on a snowy winter day.
