Kate Middleton To Attend Brooklyn Nets Game During New York Visit With Prince William
Kate Middleton, along with her husband, Prince William, just announced that they will be stopping by for the Brooklyn Nets Game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Barclays Center, during their three day royal visit to the Big Apple next month.
According to all accounts, the fact the Kate is pregnant, having just gotten over some serious morning sickness which rendered her bedridden, and unable to attend royal engagements for at least two months, she intends to have lots of fun while stateside.
As it happens to be the first time the royal couple are visiting New York together, it makes their visit much more special.
As Borough President Eric Adams said, “How befitting for the future King of England to travel to Kings County,” adding, “We look forward to welcoming Prince William and Duchess Kate as they enjoy our Brooklyn Nets ‘dethroning’ King James and the Cavaliers.”
William’s late mother, Princess Diana, visited the Brooklyn Academy of Music during her first official trip to the city some 25 years ago, so there is also an added symbolism there for William.
Debra Bock-Woo, 62, who lives near Barclays Center, told reporters, “So it’s nice that he’s coming to Brooklyn. I hope they enjoy themselves. It might be their first basketball game.”
Meanwhile, Barclays worker Collis Matthews spoke to reporters about how excited he was that Kate Middleton and Prince William are coming to town.
“That’s so cool,” he said Friday, “That’s going to bring a lot of attention here. It’s good for them to come have a little fun. A lot of people are going to want to see ’em. Security is going to be crazy. It’s exciting, though.”
There’s no question that a lot of people in Brooklyn are excited about the upcoming royal visit, with rumors also suggesting that Prince George might even be in tow, although we’re not sure he got a ticket for the basketball game.
