Before there was Keeping Up with the Kardashians , MTV had the most interesting family on television that audiences tuned into, and that was the Osbournes.
The Osbournes , which included Sharon Osbourne, her husband Ozzy, and two of their children, Kelly and Jack, were extremely entertaining to watch. Now the family who pushed MTV’s reality program to new heights is at it again, but this time the Osbournes are moving to VH1.
According to the Hollywood Reporter , VH1 is looking to revive the series with a number of episodes.
“The Viacom-owned cable network is near a deal for a new batch of episodes of the former MTV reality series. The news comes after Sharon Osbourne has been public about the show’s revival, noting that it will likely come back for six or eight episodes.”
The last time we caught up with the Osbournes, close to 10 years ago, Kelly and Jack were teens battling some pretty serious demons with addiction. Although neither have ventured back into reality television with their famous mom and dad, that doesn’t mean they’ve been out of the spotlight.
Kelly Osbourne has enjoyed success outside of the show. After a failed acting career, the opinionated Osbourne has settled into her job as a panelist on E!’s Fashion Police .
As for Jack, he settled down with a wife and their daughter, and made the heartbreaking revelation that he has multiple sclerosis.
As for Sharon, the matriarch is co-hosting CBS’ daytime show The Talk , and enjoyed a lengthy run on America’s Got Talent . Her husband Ozzy is still making music.
This isn’t the first time the Osbournes have tried to get the family back together for another reality series. Back in 2009, Fox tried with a variety series, but decided to cancel the show after one episode. It seems like a shorter season with their demographic over at VH1 is a better choice this time around.
Are you excited about the possible return of the Osbournes? Here’s what some people are saying.
