Cake Boss Star Buddy Valastro Arrested For DWI
Cake Boss’ TLC star Buddy Valastro was recently arrested while driving in Manhattan. Valastro, who’s known for his famous cakes and master fondant decorations, was driving drunk when cops spotted the baker swerving in a yellow Corvette.
According to Page Six, a source from law enforcement said Buddy was “driving erratically” near West 20th street in the middle of the night until he was pulled over by police.
A spokesperson with the police department told People at the time of Buddy’s arrest, “He was noticeably unsteady on his feet, bloodshot watery eyes.”
When Valastro was arrested, he was brought drunk to the 7th Precinct located on the Lower East Side in Manhattan once he failed a sobriety test. Police confirmed after they tested him again at the precinct.

For those who aren’t familiar, Buddy Valastro has his own TLC show called Cake Boss which documents the inner workings of his business, Carlo’s Bakery, located in Hoboken, New Jersey. Since the show’s 2009 premiere, Valastro’s bakery has branched out into similar businesses, including Cake Boss Cafe in Manhattan, and Carlos Bakery Merchandise in Jersey City, New Jersey.
As E! Online notes, Valastro spoke with Michaels.com about the positive aspects of his reality show, and how it has helped grow his business.
“There’s the bakery itself, our national shipping, our cake decorating and baking classes. Outside of that I have my TV shows, books, tour and new bakeware line. I’m never bored!”
This week, the Cake Boss left one message that might hint why he was driving drunk. Buddy experienced a great loss in his life, which he shared on Instagram and Twitter. Posting a photo posing with his aunt Anna, Valastro captioned the memory with the following.
“To my auntie Anna, I’ll always remember the great times we had together and we know that you are up in heaven with daddy now. We miss you so much and will always love you.”
He then followed that up with a few tweets.
