‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Trailer Gets Extended Cut With More James Spader

Avengers: Age of Ultron gave us its first trailer just a couple of weeks ago and people are already foaming at the mouth for May to arrive. Still, Marvel didn’t think that was nearly enough for fans and they wanted to deliver a bit more for everyone, and even more James Spader as Ultron.

Time revealed that the new trailer has a lot more voiceover work from Spader, and that’s obvious just by watching it. There is also a lot more shown from that scene where all of the Avengers are standing around after their party and greeted by Ultron.

One of the coolest new bits of footage in the extended trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron is that the super-creepy villain is not alone when he crashes the party. He looks to make the Avengers “extinct” and he brought along some robotic friends to help seal the deal.

Going further, IO9 has begun to break down the new trailer for the film and pinpoints some things that haven’t been seen before.

When it all comes down to it, the extended version of the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron is 10 seconds longer than the one released in October. Some are saying that you can’t really tell the difference unless you watch them side-by-side, but the additions are obvious.

Another cool new scene is watching Iron Man fly in from the sky over a fortress and start taking out some soldiers from Hydra. It very well could be the dwelling of one Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, who will be played by Thomas Kretschmann.

Looking further, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) is seen looking at a Samsung tablet — product placement — and it features a picture of Loki’s powerful staff. This, of course, leads more into the Avengers needing to get to von Strucker and recover it from him.

Samsung obviously paid some big bucks to get involved with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Marvel as their name is all over the place. One scene shown in the trailer has Hulk going at it with Iron Man in the “Hulkbuster Armor” with Samsung’s logo up on a building.

There are those that feel the extended trailer doesn’t show a whole lot of new info — and they’re quite wrong. Breaking it down shows that the 19 new seconds actually bring more dialogue, more scenes, and more clues as to what we will get next year.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
