After last night, something spectacular happened. Two WWE superstars took the microphone in backstage promos that lifted the roof off the building in Liverpool, England. They did it withou t even being at the arena because both of their backstage segments were taped hours before the broadcast. While Raw was being recorded, there was another live event going on in Bournemouth, England, which both men participated in.
Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt both cut backstage promos that did something to this WWE fan that hasn’t happened in quite some time. Ambrose and Wyatt showed the WWE Universe what it was like to do a promo and have it mean something. Many times, a WWE superstar will rehearse lines backstage, then deliver their monologue. However, these two scintillating superstars didn’t need a script.
On Raw last night, Ambrose and Wyatt continued their feud that will set up something next week in Roanoke, Virginia. As for a future match, the WWE announced a blockbuster match that will take place at Survivor Series, involving these two masters of the microphone.
“Dean Ambrose will have a chance to get his hands on Bray Wyatt when Survivor Series rolls around on Nov. 23.”
This comes as no surprise because Wyatt and Ambrose began their feud at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, when Wyatt interfered in the main event and helped Seth Rollins claim victory over the lunatic fringe. On Monday Night Raw, each man delivered one of their best promos in their respective careers. First, Ambrose was seen in the back, while in a dark and gloomy room, talk about his demons and why there’s nothing to take from him.
Just listen to the passion in Ambrose’s voice as he stares into the abyss. There is no shortage of the man’s intelligence and creative mind as the words that come out of his mouth mean something different, and at the same time, cause the viewer to think like him. He’s along the same lines as a Roddy Piper or CM Punk, which is foreshadowing of his future in the WWE.
About an hour later, the WWE aired a reaction to Ambrose’s scathing promo with something from the antagonist, Bray Wyatt.
Wyatt’s usage of philosophy and darkness continue to get better by the day. Both men are getting to the depth of their characters, and it’s only beginning. The discussion of Ambrose and Wyatt going to Hell together and being sinners just emphasizes their feud to the utmost degree.
Rumors came out last week that WWE wanted to make Wyatt even creepier. They are delivering on their word and are going past that. The WWE Universe’s expectation of this feud is extremely high. Judging by just the microphone work and storytelling by the way of mouth, these two men are delivering gold. This feud must be a long-term thing because nobody will be sick of Wyatt and Ambrose going at it on the stick and in the ring.
