Britney Spears’ Father Reportedly ‘Hand-Picked’ Charlie Ebersol To Date His Daughter
One might assume that Britney Spears is old enough to choose her own boyfriends, but according to recent reports, her new boyfriend Charlie Ebersol was “hand-picked” for her by her father Jamie Spears.
Most inside sources are secretly hoping that it’s a case of “third time lucky” for Jamie as his previous attempts to match his daughter with Jason Trawick and David Lucado failed miserably and ended in tears.
A source close to the 32-year-old superstar told Radar Online, “Britney and Charlie have hit it off and she has her father to thank for this. She said she does not know where he finds them,” the source revealed. Britney has been under the conservatorship of her father since her public melt-down back in 2010, and he is very protective of his daughter.
According to a recent report by the same publication, Ebersol, who is 32, a TV producer and the son of well-known NBC exec, Dick Ebersol, “had to pass through the gauntlet” before being allowed the chance to date Britney Spears. Having gained the much need “blessing” from Jamie, Ebersol allegedly passed with “flying colors” and got the go-ahead to date.
An inside source who works with Britney told reporters that Charlie Ebersol finally got the chance to meet the “inner circle,” “Charlie came on the last night of the show and she introduced him to everyone. This guy is really hot and he is incredibly wealthy, so we all obviously approve. It is just really great to see her so happy and we are glad that she has found someone that she can relate to who is on her level,” the source said.
Let’s hope that Ebersol is prepared for a family though, if he does take things further with Britney Spears as she expressly revealed last year that she would happily forgo her successful career for a family life, “I’d like to have more kids, settle down. Have kids – maybe twins – and get married. That would be nice,” she said.
