Chick-Fil-A Manager Bans Slang: Manager Bans Words Like ‘Bae’ And ‘Chill’
A Chick-fil-A manager has banned slang in his restaurant. According to MTV, Eric, the manager made a list of words that he doesn’t want his employees to say. Some words included on the list are “bae,” short for baby, “fam,” short for family, “chill,” meaning to calm down, and “on fleek,” meaning on point.
Eric told his employees that they are “professionals,” and that they should “speak professionally.” Anyone who uses the banned slang risks losing their job. And, anyone who decides to cross out one of the words on the list will lose their “employee meals.” It is beyond clear that Eric means business.
The Chick-fil-A manager banned slang after getting fed up with hearing his employees say words that sounded unprofessional, or say things that weren’t appropriate (such as, “I think I have Ebola”). According to Gawker, there is a chance that the story, originally posted on Reddit, could be a hoax, but it has gotten quite the reaction regardless.
“If this is just a Redditor’s hoax, he’s captured the poetry of an aggrieved fast food manager perfectly,” reports Gawker.
As you can probably imagine, social media has had some fun with this story. Check out some tweets below.

This is amazing. If I ever hear a friend say “on fleek” in a sentence, they will be slapped onsite. No exceptions. http://t.co/SjwU79iGYD

In case you didn’t know, Chick-fil-A has been named the top chicken eatery, even beating out its main competitor, KFC. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the chicken chain has “captured the largest share of the fast-food chicken market,” and that’s believed to be because of the taste and overall quality of the product.
Perhaps the Chick-fil-A manager decided to ban slang in his owner-operated eatery because the name is growing and he wants to hold his employees to a higher standard.
What do you think of Eric the Manager’s decision to ban slang? Holla back.
