Baby Sam Smith Rapping In The Bathtub — Another Celebrity Overshare?
Pop star Sam Smith has been giving his fans a lot of reasons to love him lately, especially with hit singles like “Stay With Me.” But one of Sam Smith’s newest gifts to the world was actually created decades ago, and it took a Throwback post on Sam’s Instagram to unearth the adorable viral gem — even though it wasn’t technically Throwback Thursday.
Radio reported on Sam Smith’s recent sharing of a video of himself at the age of 4. Little Sam can be seen taking a bath while reciting some obscure rap lyrics to the best of his adolescent ability. Sam Smith shared the Instagram video on Sunday with the caption “Me rapping at a young age,” and it has already accumulated almost 43,000 likes and 2,190 comments. You can watch baby Sam Smith busting some rhymes in the video below.

The video is time-stamped at 1997, which Radio estimates puts the young Sam Smith somewhere around the age of 4. Unfortunately, it’s virtually impossible to understand what the child version of Sam Smith is saying in the video, so any Sam Smith fans or fans of rap from 1997 should share the lyrics if they know them.
Sam Smith has been interested in music all his life, and this video is evidence that he was destined to be a pop star. Interestingly, Sam Smith recently admitted that he was obsessed with hitting it big in the music industry his whole life, doing whatever it takes to make it to the top. In that same interview, Sam Smith also revealed the five things he still wants to accomplish with his life. Since baby Sam turned into one of the biggest pop stars alive, you might think there’s not much for him left to do. To find out what Sam still wants from life, click here.
Sam’s Instagram video and life goals seem to align with a recent trend of celebrities to share the most private parts of their lives. While One Direction members like Zayn Malik are sharing birthday celebrations and Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is sharing her adorable puppy, some artists like Lily Allen are sharing the less pleasant parts of their life. Allen recently released a blog post with a picture of her in tears, along with a self-loathing rant.
What do you think about celebrity over-sharing? Is Sam Smith guilty of it, and is this a trend that needs to stop? More importantly, what do you think about baby Sam Smith’s rapping?
