Demi Lovato’s New Tattoo Pays Tribute To Her Family

Demi Lovato, 22, just revealed her latest tattoo. The young pop star now sports 15 tattoos reports The Daily Mail.

Lovato’s latest tattoo, is five lines of Roman numerals on the side of her rib cage. When Lovato added her latest piece of body art, is still a mystery, but photos of the tattoo began to circulate on Friday on Twitter after Lovato posted it.

In the revealing photo Lovato flashes some side boob.The rib cage is a truly painful spot to get a tattoo, but in her photo Lovato is seen smiling happily.

According to The Daily Mail the new tattoo is an emotional tribute. The numbers in the tattoo represent the birthdays of her family members, including her mother Dianna, sisters Dallas and Maddie, her step-father Ed and her dad, Patrick, who passed away just last year.

This is not Lovato’s only tattoo linked to her dad’s memory. The pop star has the Roman numeral for three on her wrist, which was her dad’s favorite number.

Lovato also sports another meaningful tattoo on her back that says I am a warrior. The tattoo commemorates her victory over depression.

“I have a song on my album called Warrior, and it’s very, very meaningful to me. It’s really heavy, the lyrics, but it’s an inspirational song as well…It’s a negative thing turned positive This is a song that was really difficult for me to write, record and now release. It was kinda like a tribute to releasing an album, as well as overcoming some really, really difficult things in my life.” Lovato explains.

Lovato also has a map of Africa tattooed on her back. She celebrated her birthday there last year. Her largest tattoo that she had done in 2012, is 12 birds flying up her arm. The tattoo was designed by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D.

Most of Lovato’s tattoos have meaning to her. Several of them pay tribute to her overcoming both depression and drug addiction.

Some of her tattoos, however, have no real meaning and were done on a whim. She had a feather tattooed behind her ear on her tour bus during the Warped Tour. She also has a tattoo of a pair of lips, reports Perezhilton.com.

Despite having so many tattoos, Lovato has admitted in the past that at times she feels conflicted by them.

“I’m young and I can rock it now and when I get older I can worry about it later,” she said during an interview on Live With Kelly and Michael.
