Bite Into ‘Vampire Diaries’ Spoilers: Why Elena’s Thanksgiving Really Sucks And What’s On The Meaty Menu [Video]
It’s a bloody shame when it comes to The Vampire Diaries and Thanksgiving. But for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola), Turkey Day bodes with some problems that really bite. From a scary spell that could be deadly to the guest of honor’s dominant werewolf gene, Thanksgiving for the Vampire Diaries gals, guys, and un-humans just might become a holiday horror story, revealed MTV News.
When it comes to a reason to howl, consider the implications of choosing Tyler as your guest of honor. Something as minor as neglecting to pile the whipped cream extra high on his serving of pumpkin pie just might bring out his inner werewolf. And death at the Thanksgiving dinner table isn’t very pretty.
While romance sounds like a lovely addition to the annual Thanksgiving gratitude list, Elena has a memory problem. Her true love supposedly has returned from the dead — but her brain cells can’t recall why or how she adored him. Oops.
As for where to host Turkey Dinner? Good luck with that one, because heading home could invoke a spell that would kill them. So you might as well forget about over the river and through the woods to the werewolf’s home they go.

For those who want to relish the love on Thanksgiving along with the cranberry sauce, Damon might have a howling chance. But it all depends on Elena, as the Wall Street Journal pointed out. And as always with The Vampire Diaries, the surprises just keep coming.
“Just open the door, Elena,” pleaded Damon. “And everything can go back to the way it was.”
Not so fast, dude, because Elena has vanished to call serene Stefan for help.
The special Vampire Diaries Thanksgiving episode, “Fade Into You,” is scheduled to air November 20.
Now when it comes to Thanksgiving and vampires, the question must be asked: Just what do you serve a cast that includes some guests who might not be turned on by a dead turkey and butter-sodden mashed potatoes?
Ian Somerhalder’s character Damon offers some hints, noted E News. Just check out some of his famous lines from The Vampire Diaries.
“I have two liters of soccer mom in the fridge. No? Give my regards to the squirrels.”
“I’m at the Sizzler. I had the buffet.”
“Little mid-service snack. Church always gets me hungry. You know, whole blood of Christ thing.”
But don’t assume that Ian shares those sentiments. In fact, Somerhalder is an animal lover, as the Inquisitr reported. He owns an orange cat named Moke. And he loves the kitty so much that his pet even shared his photo shoot at People magazine.
