Diem Brown Determined To Beat Cancer, Have A Family Despite Setbacks
Diem Brown from MTV’s The Challenge is battling cancer for the third time, and while she has had some setbacks, she says that she’s determined to beat cancer. According to Us Weekly, the reality star is getting ready to undergo another round of treatment, and while she is prepared, she knows that she is going to have good days and bad days.
“I was terrified this was going to be my forever. I have good days and bad,” Diem told the magazine in a recent interview.
Despite undergoing treatment in the past, Diem’s current chemo cocktail is much stronger, and her body reacts differently to it.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Diem has been very positive about her diagnosis, even though it has not been easy. She still says that she wants to live the American dream — she wants a family and she wants kids, even if she has to adopt.
“Whether by surrogate or adoption, I will have a family — period. I’m not letting this dumb disease take that dream from me. Ever.”
Diem Brown has received a ton of love and support from her family, friends, and fans over the past several months. In fact, a funding account that was set up to help her pay for some of her medical expenses has received over $70,000 in donations. The account is on a site called MedGift, which Brown actually co-founded after her second bout with the disease. She likely didn’t ever think that she would need to use the resource for herself, but she is very lucky to have it, and to have people who want to donate money to help her out.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Diem learned that her cancer had spread. She told People Magazine that she’s hoping to see all of her masses shrinking when she has her next scan. While her condition is very serious, Diem believes in herself, and it’s her positive attitude that has so many people pulling for her even more.
“It’s my personal perspective that you live as hard and as vigorously as you can. My goals are something I believe in, because I believe I’m going to make it.”
The 32-year-old has been very open about her struggle, but she has also been very realistic about how she feels and what she has gone through. If you know Diem, you know she is very sweet, and she has a huge heart. And everyone knows that she’s got this.
