LeBron James Tells Angry Cavs Fans To Be Patient

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t gotten off to the start many people thought they would, and that Cavs fans hoped they would. As a matter of fact, the return of LeBron James to Cleveland has been disappointing thus far.

Well, LeBron took to Twitter on Thursday to address all of the Cavs fans that have been freaking out due to the Cavaliers slow start to the 2014-2015 NBA season.

Cleveland sports fans panicking may be a bit of an overreaction due to the fact that the NBA season is less than 10 games in, and LeBron telling Cavs fans to relax is beyond logical. But the Cavs did have a tremendous amount of hype going into this season after acquiring all-star power forward Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves after James signed in Cleveland this past summer, but Cleveland hasn’t had a major sports championship since 1964, when the Cleveland Browns won the NFL Championship (pre-Super Bowl).

The biggest part of the Cavaliers slow star is how LeBron James has been playing, appearing to be very passive, and letting his teammates do all of the work. According to multiple sources, James is taking the passive approach to teach is young teammates a lesson, and after their failures, they’ll buy into what James is preaching.

Earlier this week, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James exchanged words in the Cavs locker room after the Cavs double-digit loss to the Trail Blazers in Portland. It was described as a friendly exchange of words, but James has made it clear that he wants Irving to be more of a traditional point guard instead of a shoot-first point guard.

On ESPN’s Grantland Basketball Hour, it was suggested that the new Cavaliers could end up being the greatest offensive team in the history of the NBA, and that the combination of Kevin Love, LeBron James, and Kyrie Irving was a much better threesome than James, Bosh, and Wade, but it would take a bit of time for the Cavs to get to that point.

It certainly has been an adjustment period for the new Cavaliers, and the fans are eager to see LeBron step up and be the “Miami Heat LeBron,” but they may be waiting a while until James feels comfortable with is new teammates.

When James joined Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in 2010, the Heat started off 12-8, well below expectations. But they finished the season with a record of 58-24 and made it to the NBA finals, where they lost to the Dallas Mavericks.

Adjustment time is expected with this new Cavs team, and James telling Cleveland fans to calm down is more than logical.

LeBron James and the Cavaliers will take the court again tonight at 10:30 p.m. eastern time when they take on the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
