‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’ Trailer Arrives, One Last Time [Video]
Director Peter Jackson brings us The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies trailer one last time, as his Middle Earth run comes to an end in this “Defining Chapter.” From what we can see in the clip, the last installment of the trilogy will be nothing short of spectacular.
For fans, this is the stuff that dreams are made of. Many have been waiting to witness the ferocious battle for years, some for a lifetime, after reading the J.R.R. Tolkien novel as children. Those who have not read the book, were also anticipating the events that follow the previous chapter, The Desolation of Smaug, which coincidentally was released on Blu-ray/DVD earlier this week.
Jackson has delighted millions with his interpretation of the classic story and now, with the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies final trailer, they are more than ready to follow the dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) one last time.
The much anticipated trailer is somber and dramatic, which is to be expected as all the characters that we have come to know in the previous two chapters face-off under desperate conditions. In the last moments of Desolation of Smaug, we were left with a cliffhanger as the feared dragon, Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch) descended upon the residents of Laketown led by Bard, the Bowman (Luke Evans), who is a dragon slayer ready to defend his people to the death.
As the story has progressed, what started so jovially in An Unexpected Journey in 2012 has now turned into a life or death choice, with Thorin’s ambitions taking his people to a place from which they may not return. As such, he is confronted by Biblo Bagggins (Martin Freeman), who has been instrumental in getting his company to their long lost home of Erebor.
“You won the mountain, is that not enough?” a frustrated Bilbo asks Thorin in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies trailer. Even though Thorin calls himself The Rightful King, it’s not so simple as that and the tragic events surrounding the clash start to take shape.
If you have read the book, then you know exactly what is coming to your screen, although P.J. has taken liberties — for which he has been criticized — the central scene will leave audiences breathless and many are not looking forward to seeing the demise of their favorite character.
Without anything further here is the much awaited last trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Leave us your thoughts in the space below.
