‘RHOA’ Star Claudia Jordan: ‘I Was Actually Suicidal’ And ‘Hit Rock Bottom’

Reality TV star Claudia Jordan recently opened up to Radar Online about when her life took a turn for the worse.

In January 2012, it was confirmed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s financial troubles led to her filing for Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

Claudia Jordan spoke openly in her interview with Radar about the roller coaster ride that she experienced with her finances overall, which led to her emotional turmoil and suicidal tendencies.

“I definitely had money and lost it all and got it back, lost it all again and now I’m on the upswing. I was a victim of some predatory loans, and I remember I was depressed for a while to the point I was actually suicidal.”

The former Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars contestant admitted that the unpleasant roller coaster ride eventually led to her losing everything that she had worked so hard to gain in the first place. Her depression was intensified when she started having problems in other aspects of her life — including her relationship with actor/model Datari Turner.

“I hit rock bottom. I lost everything, including my real estate. I was very proud of buying all my real estate on my own and [then] my show got cancelled… Everything happened at the same time and I was depressed.”

Claudia Jordan went on to say that not everyone who offered their help to her were successful in their endeavors for one reason or another. She recalled the experience of someone who tried to help her with filing for bankruptcy, and how she actually ended up losing more money by doing so.

“There was someone that came to me that said, ‘Hey, I can help you. I can thaw it out.’ I paid him $10,000 and he started to file the bankruptcy proceedings, but then we never followed through with it.”

The former Deal or No Deal game show model stated that she ended up paying off the debt that she owed on her own so she never had to go through with the filing. However, she also admits that a lot of people still criticize her for putting herself in that type of predicament in the first place.

Claudia Jordan enjoys being able to share her personal story on the Real Housewives of Atlanta because it gives her the chance to introduce herself to the rest of the world. Jordan also appreciates the opportunity that she has to allow her personal triumphs and troubles to become inspirational examples for others.
