In what can only been seen as a rumor for now, it appears that the announcement for WWE’s Survivor Series PPV regarding the Team John Cena vs Team Authority angle about the Authority losing power if they lose could be due to an surprising reason. What Culture is reporting that WWE Executive Stephanie McMahon might be pregnant yet again, and the sudden angle was due to WWE just finding out about the news. It is said that Triple H and Stephanie, or at the very least Stephanie, will be written out through the duration of her pregnancy after Survivor Series in a few weeks.
In the past, Stephanie has never really appeared on Television while really pregnant. She was careful to plan this. Vince McMahon and Triple H potentially never wanted to take chances. While she has been backstage while pregnant, they do not want her on TV or put through too much stress, one would imagine.
Clearly, this is surprising. Many wondered why WWE would suddenly throw in a random angle like The Authority losing power if they are defeated. This only favors Team Cena if they win, whereas a loss for The Authority means everything.
The rumor has caught a lot of attention on Twitter and other social media platforms. Fans speculated that Stephanie was looking a bit bigger than normal in one area. This was surprising because WWE’s Billion Dollar Princess was in terrific shape recently. She has been on TV for a full year with no recognizable body change. She even wrestled at WWE’s SummerSlam PPV. While WWE clearly has gone through a Stephanie pregnancy before, this is one of the first times she has been in a marquee WWE angle where she had to be written out due to a pregnancy.
If true, it makes sense that WWE would cut The Authority group down for a while. What is interesting is it appeared to many that WWE did this due to Steve Austin’s return. At last word, we heard that Stone Cold would be coming in for a big storyline in early 2015. Many speculated that he would have an authoritarian role. However, it was undetermined what he would do. This angle could have been planned for later on, but WWE moved it up due to necessity.
Whatever the reason, WWE losing an antagonistic group is not helpful. That would mean that another would have to rise up. WWE will potentially put another General Manager in charge, potentially Austin, to help out. However, a big antagonist may be there. Triple H, while he may no longer be able to control WWE RAW , is still the COO of WWE. He will probably be able to stick around a bit until the big part of his wife’s pregnancy when he would be needed.
Due to Stephanie having a big role, in which she can get into physical altercations, it would make sense that she would be written out now. While it appears she could have gained baby weight, it could be the dress or lighting that affected her look. Most would question if she is or not. However, the sudden weight that has shown itself could be an indication of other things. So it is NOT confirmed she is pregnant. However, do not be surprised if WWE writes her out. That being said, we can probably predict the outcome at Survivor Series a bit easier now.
WWE would lose a lot with Stephanie gone, as she is clearly one WWE’s top antagonists. Stephanie has been great since she came back in 2013 for a major role. She stepped in the ring and shocked the world with how good she was at SummerSlam. On top of this, she has been making strides as an Executive for WWE. She has been on quite a roll. So this is a bigger loss for WWE than people realize. However, the WWE can move on without her as she can always be replaced for a period of time.
