Marilyn Monroe Started Sexual Revolution
“I am good, but not an angel. I do sin, but I am not the devil. I am just a small girl in a big world trying to find someone to love.”
Marilyn Monroe — born Norma Jeane Mortenson, June 1, 1926 — died in the prime of her life on August 5, 1962 from an apparent barbiturate overdose at the age of 36 in Brentwood, California. The bombshell American actress was also a model, singer, and film producer.
There has been a lot of speculation that her death could have been a suicide or a homicide. Her demise, along with the death of her alleged star-crossed lover in 1963, President John F. Kennedy, will remain two of the biggest mysteries of all time.
Allegedly, the last person Marilyn ever called was JFK. A lot of speculation has been made over the years that Marilyn Monroe was head-over-heels in love with Jack Kennedy.
The “Happy Birthday” song she delivered while lit up like a birthday cake and dressed to kill on primetime national TV speaks volumes about a relationship that was not much of a secret. Mrs. Kennedy, Jackie O, is said to have missed the show.
In 2009, TV Guide Network named Marilyn Monroe No. 1 in “Film’s Sexiest Women of All Time.” Forty-seven years after her death and Monroe is still turning heads.
The Inquisitr wrote about nude photos of Marilyn that surfaced in 1952 from a 1949 session with photographer Tom Kelley. Given the moral code of the times, the spin that was put into place actually garnered sympathy for a “struggling actress” who was simply trying to pay her rent.
One of the photos of Monroe was subsequently published in the first issue of Playboy in 1953, making Marilyn Monroe the first “Playmate of the Month.” Let the revolution begin.

Fox News reports about one of Monroes’ most famous photos and that Kate Upton had a “Marilyn moment” when her outfit suffered a blow-up malfunction on the beach in Miami during a photo shoot. For real…
Three marriages, three divorces, several failed attempts to carry a child to term, and the subsequent loss of her life at the moment she was just getting started prompted Elton John and Bernie Taupin to write a song about the life and times of the tragic beauty we all have come to know as Marilyn Monroe. “Candle in the Wind” summarizes the elusive happiness we all see in the beautiful smile and sunny disposition displayed in this woman-child. Goodbye, Norma Jeane.
