‘American Horror Story’ Spoilers: Matt Bomer Is Coming, More Twisty And Edward Mordrake
American Horror Story: Freak Show is about to get a whole lot handsomer.
The FX series is going to introduce Matt Bomer’s mysterious character this week, and Ryan Murphy makes one of the White Collar star’s scenes sound just as twisted as Twisty the Clown’s reign of terror.
However, fans of Matt’s pretty face needn’t worry about the actor hiding it behind a creepy mask (at least for now). Set photos show the Magic Mike actor rocking some really high hair and hanging out in Twisty’s lair.
He’s probably not there to meet the deceased clown, so this means just one thing — he’s paying Dandy (Finn Wittrock) a visit. Spoiler TV shared a set photo that shows American Horror Story: Freak Show’s most demented character talking to Andy, Matt Bomer’s new character. Dandy isn’t wearing his clown costume and he doesn’t look murderous, so perhaps he’s not planning on killing Andy.
Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that one of Matt’s scenes is going to be extremely unnerving.
“It is disturbing… I think it’s the most disturbing thing we’ve done because it’s so real and so based on fact. It’s a true horror sequence and Matt is a good friend and we’ve collaborated many times. He was very challenged by it. It’s a very gothic, weird sequence… Everyone was freaked out when we did it. Matt thought it was a real acting challenge, so that’s why he did it. I think episode five ups the horror quotient in a real way on our show.”
However, the most talked about scene of this week’s American Horror Story: Freak Show might not be the one shared by Andy and Dandy. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the scene in question will actually feature Andy and Michael Chiklis’ strongman character, Dell Toledo. Bomer described their “seven-page encounter” as having a “demented Tennessee Williams feel.”
Chiklis’ character has a thing for women with male features, so perhaps he’s actually gay. He had a child with bearded lady Ethel Darling (Kathy Bates), and he’s currently married to hermaphrodite Desiree Dupree (Angela Bassett). He’s been having a hard time getting aroused recently, which is making Desiree very unhappy. Perhaps he enlists Bomer’s character to help him get his groove back.
It’s also possible that Dell is a closeted gay man who takes out his sexual frustration on other gay men. In a recent episode, he did kill a gay man. However, maybe he was simply angry because the man was having sex with his wife.
A promo for “Pink Cupcakes” appears to show a quick glimpse of Dandy and Andy together, and Desiree confronts Dell by saying, “Ethel told me the real truth about you.” However, the most attention-grabbing part of the American Horror Story: Freak Show promo comes at the beginning when the heads of conjoined twins Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson) are shown in a display at the American Morbidity Museum.
It appears as though Stanley (Denis O’Hare) has succeeded in poisoning the conjoined twins with pink cupcakes. However, not everything is at it seems on American Horror Story: Freak Show — perhaps Stanley’s sidekick Maggie (Emma Roberts) has a change of heart about their devious plan and warns the twins about what Stanley plans to do to them. Maggie doesn’t have to tell Bette and Dot how she knows this info — the faux fortune teller just has to reveal their future by pretending to read their palms.
American Horror Story: Freak Show fans don’t just have Matt Bomer’s appearance to look forward to. Ryan Murphy revealed that fan favorites Edward Mordrake (Wes Bentley) and Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch) will make “triumphant returns” sometime this season. Perhaps they’ll come back to claim Dandy’s dark soul.
Lily Rabe will also be reprising her role as Sister Mary Eunice from American Horror Story: Asylum, and viewers will learn the identity of the smitten man who crafted the amazing prosthetic legs worn by Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange). Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka will also appear in the last two episodes of this season.
The next episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesday, November 5 at 10 p.m. ET. Are you looking forward to seeing Matt Bomer with Dandy and Dell?
