Andy Cohen Will Visit Teresa Giudice In Prison, Says He Was ‘Crying’ At ‘RHONJ’ Reunion
The Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion airs tonight, and fans may see host Andy Cohen shed a few tears over Teresa Giudice when she talks about her upcoming prison sentence. During the Ask Andy Q&A on the Watch What Happens Live website (video above), Andy reveals that he was very emotional while filming the reunion and at one point, he couldn’t even look at Teresa because he was so upset.
“When it ended, I gave her this big hug. I could barely look at her. I was basically crying, and I didn’t want to cry on camera. I was upset, I was really upset.”
Although he had already interviewed Teresa and her husband, Joe Giudice, the day after the couple’s sentencing, things really got emotional for the Andy when he sat down with Teresa and the entire cast to tape the three-part RHONJ Season 6 reunion. After all, Teresa has been on the show since the first season aired back in 2009.
“Teresa had just been sentenced, and it seems like it’s Teresa’s last reunion, so there was an air of real, kind of serious heaviness and emotion that was there the whole time… It was emotional…”
Us Weekly reports that there were times during the RHONJ reunion filming that Andy was afraid he’d lose his composure on camera. He was very composed when he talked to Teresa about her upcoming prison sentence, and admits that although he held it together, he was “basically kind of maybe crying.”
During the Ask Andy Q&A, Cohen was asked if he had plans to visit Teresa when she’s locked up in a federal jail. At first, he said he wasn’t sure about seeing her behind bars, but moments later he changed his mind and said he would.
“The truth is I would like to. If it would make her happy and make her life better then I’d certainly go there.”
If Andy Cohen does end up visiting Teresa in prison, he will have to abide by a rather limited visitation schedule. According to New Jersey On-Line, Teresa will be probably be going to a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, where visiting days are Fridays through Mondays and holidays. The prison has the right to deny a visitors if capacity has been reached.
