Man Arrested For Road Rage Shooting That Killed California Mom Of Four, Perla Avina
Just last Sunday we all heard the horrible news of the road rage incident that killed 30-year-old Perla Avina of Oakland California. Leaving behind her high school sweetheart husband and four loving children, as reported by the Inquisitr.
We’ve all been awaiting the results of the investigation stating that they have found the perpetrator.
Today that news has been released, according to MSN, and a man has been arrested.
As Avina and her husband, Luis Gallegos drove home from the supermarket last Sunday expecting a day of fun family traditions of enjoying their favorite foods while watching their number one football team, the Raiders, play. However, according to Inquisitr, that all ended as their car was riveted with bullets.
Avina was shot in the head, and died in her driveway as her husband was desperately trying to revive her.
Now, less than one week later, a 20-year-old Carl Stephen Dubose of Oakland was taken into custody in Elk Grove on Wednesday evening, per Fox News.
The Oakland community rallied together as investigators asked residents and businesses for surveillance videos that may help them find the shooter. That is exactly what happened.
After viewing many videos and investigating tips, Chief Sean Whent reports that the authorities were able to track down the killer. Police had offered a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the shooter earlier this week.
Chief Whent told MSN that police were able to recover the vehicle and the firearm they believed to have been used in Avina’s shooting. SWAT surrounded a home in which Dubose had barricaded himself, but he eventually surrendered without incident.
Chief Whent made a statement regarding the shooting and the arrest, as reported by MSN.
“Perla’s life matters and all life matters in Oakland. The shooting was a “senseless act of violence. It is our collective outrage and willingness to come together… as a community that led to an arrest in this case.”
While it has been determined that Dubose and Avina never knew each other, MSN reports that investigator Leo Sanchez reveals, “we are still looking into the road rage allegations,” describing it as a combination of “complex factors.”
Hopefully, this arrest will help lead to some sort of closure for Luis Gallegos and his precious four children, ages 1, 4, 8 and 14, who miss their mommy.
