Meghan Trainor has taken the music world by storm, and her hit song “All About That Bass” just won’t give up.
Trainor’s body positive anthem has topped charts for its eighth week, according to Billboard, by taking spot number one in the Billboard Hot 100 list . “All About That Bass” has reportedly earned the honor of bring the longest-ruling No. 1 ever released on Epic Records. According to Hollywood.com, that means Trainor has beat out Michael Jackson as the label’s number one leader with his seven week runs with “Billie Jean” and “Black or White.”
So why is Meghan Trainor’s hit “All About That Bass” doing so well? While there is no solid answer for that question, the Inquisitr did suggest that the body positive theme to the song could be driving its success. With lyrics such as “Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two/But I can shake it, shake it/Like I’m supposed to do” and “If you got beauty, beauty, just raise ’em up/’Cause every inch of you is perfect/From the bottom to the top,” it’s really no big surprise why the song would be topping charts, especially with Photoshop and women’s self-esteem being such hot topics of conversation as of late.
What are fans saying about Meghan Trainor’s chart topper? According to Twitter, they still seem all about that bass!
