‘Once Upon A Time’ Spoilers: The Scroll Is Decoded, Something Nasty Is Coming
The Once Upon a Time mystery surrounding the Snow Queen just got even stranger.
Elizabeth Mitchell’s Snow Queen has already claimed that she’s Elsa’s aunt, and last week it was revealed that she was once Emma Swan’s foster mother. However, a teaser for this week’s episode of Once Upon a Time seems to suggest that the Snow Queen really wants to be Emma’s sister.
In the “Family Business” promo below, Emma discovers a mysterious scroll covered with strange writing. Emma points out that it “isn’t from our world.”
According to Spoiler TV, a Once Upon a Time viewer managed to decode the scroll’s message. It reveals that someone has been desperately searching for Emma.
“Search will continue to the ends of the Earth. One thing I know for sure, the name of the Savior is Emma. The Savior shall be my sister. The family must be complete.”
In last week’s episode, it was revealed that the Snow Queen wants to use her magic mirror to create the family she never had. Maybe she wanted to raise Emma Swan as her daughter back when the savior was a teen. However, now that Emma is older, perhaps the Snow Queen wants the savior to treat her like a sister.
Some Once Upon a Time fans have presented an alternate theory that the scroll is the same one that Emma and Elsa’s parents tossed into the ocean at the beginning of the season. There’s also a third theory that Anna wrote the note and that she, Elsa, and Emma are actually biological sisters. However, if Emma is Anna and Elsa’s half-sister, this means that the late Queen of Arendelle cheated on her husband with Charming when Charming was underage. This scenario seems highly unlikely. Showrunner Adam Horowitz also told TV Line that none of the Frozen characters will have blood ties to anyone in Storybrooke.
Charming might not have a child out there that Snow White doesn’t know about, but something is coming to Storybrooke that’s going to have an impact on the Snowing relationship. Actor Josh Dallas teased that it’s “pretty nasty.”
“There’s something on its way that definitely affects everyone in Storybrooke — and the Charmings, for sure. It creates some weird things within their relationship. I can’t tell you any more.”
Unfortunately, Dallas didn’t reveal when this mysterious plot development will pop up on Once Upon a Time. However, there a few more spoilers about “Family Business” were recently revealed.
According to Hypable, Disney’s Frozen character Oaken will appear in a flashback on this week’s episode. Anna will turn to him when she needs supplies for her journey to find Elsa.

The Arendelle flashback will also feature Belle encountering Anna during a trip to visit Grand Pabbie. Belle turns to the rock troll to find answers about her mother (all this takes place before Belle meets Rumple). Meanwhile, in present-day Storybrooke, Belle tries to use the Dark One’s dagger on Rumple to find out the whereabouts of the Snow Queen. However, she might feel betrayed after she discovers that she’s not in possession of the real Dark One’s dagger. Outlaw Queen fans will also be thrilled to see Regina and Robin Hood working together to track the Snow Queen in the promo above.
The next episode of Once Upon a Time airs on November 1 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
