Mark Zuckerberg may have created the social media network with the goal of connecting the world, but it is no secret that Facebook has become a large business where all the users are responsible for making it successful. The more users are active on the network, the more money the company makes from investors, advertisers, and other apps, including the various games people can play.
This week, Mark Zuckerberg announced his vision for the company over the next decade, and his vision appears to have scared investors a bit. As he announced his vision, stocks were rumored to be dropping. And with that news, Mark decided it was time to reach out to his many followers on the network to let them know what he was thinking.
According to a new Facebook post, Mark Zuckerberg decided to give thanks to the users who are posting and sharing on the network on a daily basis. Perhaps he wants to make sure that his users are happy with the product before making some drastic changes.
“Today we had our quarterly earnings call and gave an update on our community’s progress,” Mark Zuckerberg revealed on his social media network, adding, “There are now more than 1.35 billion people using Facebook every month — over 860 million every day. Our community has come so far over the last few years. Thank you for being a part of it.”
This week, Facebook’s CFO Dave Wehner and CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed their aggressive plans to invest in various ad tech projects that would ensure the company’s future. However, these plans could increase the company’s expenses by 50 percent to 70 percent. And it is this expense increase that is concerning investors.
It should be no secret that Zuckerberg has a big vision to connect the world using his product. He wants to bring the internet to people who currently don’t have access. And this aggressive plan requires some major changes, including more spending.
“We’re going to prepare for the future by investing aggressively,” Zuckerberg said
Wehner added, “The strength of the business today is putting us in a strong position to invest in the future.”
But Mark Zuckerberg isn’t just spending money in regards to his business. Mark and his wife Priscilla recently donated $25 million to fight ebola, according to the Inquisitr . So, while Mark Zuckerberg is all about making money in hopes of connecting the world, he is also giving back when needed.
What do you think of Mark Zuckerberg’s message to his users as investors show concern over stock changes?
