‘Orange Is The New Black’: Vee Will Return For Season 3

The popular Netflix original show Orange Is The New Black will be returning for a third season in the summer of 2015. While that may be painstakingly far away for some fans, little tidbits of information about new Orange Is The New Black episodes have been hitting the web one by one. The Inquisitr recently reported on what can be expected of Orange Is The New Black season 3, including the departure of some major characters like Larry Bloom and the sadistic guard Mendez. But surprisingly, some characters who seemed to have been written out in season 2 of Orange Is The New Black will be making an appearance in the upcoming season.

According to TMZ, the drug lord villainess known as Vee from Orange Is The New Black season 2 will be showing up in the third season. Even though Vee was apparently killed at the very end of the most recent episode of Orange Is The New Black, the actress who plays Vee, Lorraine Toussaint, has signed up for another season of the show.

Vee was one of Orange Is The New Black’s most vindictive and unrelenting baddies, taking advantage of certain inmates in order to boost her status in the prison, and even having people close to her killed to get what she wants. But at the end of Orange Is The New Black season 2, she had escaped the prison after learning her drug dealing gang had betrayed her, and was immediately run over by another escaped inmate, Miss Rosa. The final shot of Vee in Orange Is The New Black season 3 showed her lifeless on the side of the road. Does this mean Vee is alive for the next installment of Orange Is The New Black? Or will Vee simply be appearing in flashback sequences? It’s unclear so far, and TMZ has no information on the state of Vee’s character for the new Orange Is The New Black episodes.

However, this much is certain: Toussaint is scheduled to return to the set of Orange Is The New Black for shooting this Tuesday morning in New York. So one way or another, Vee will be showing her face on Orange Is The New Black again, whether the viewers like it or not.

UPI also reported on Vee’s comeback, reminding that Toussaint also has a gig outside of Orange Is The New Black, acting on the ABC drama Forever.
