Ellen DeGeneres And Portia De Rossi Allegedly Miss Charity Fundraiser Following ‘Epic’ Argument In Car
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been out the media’s eye for the most part lately, as rumors surrounding problems in their relationship waned, despite allegations of excessive driving, cheating and heated arguments.
But Hollywood’s favorite couple have crept back into the news headlines this week after they were a “n0-show” at a charity fundraiser for rescued animals, which they allegedly bailed on following a reportedly “epic” argument in the car on the way to the event.
Page Six reported yesterday that on their way to the Saving SPOT! fundraiser at Tiato in Santa Monica, they got into a fight, about something or other, which escalated into a full-blown row which was so severe that DeGeneres and de Rossi turned the car around and headed back home.
A source told the publication, “Ellen and Portia were supposed to be at the event at 5 p.m., but at 6:30 p.m., the media was still waiting for their arrival. Reporters were told they were on their way, until the head of the charity informed everyone at the end of the event that they weren’t going to make it due to ‘logistics.'”
Those “logistics,” according to the inside source, were actually just a cover for the fight, “Ellen and Portia were delayed and were in the car on the way, when they had an epic fight. They ended up turning around and not going to the fund-raiser.”
Ellen DeGeneres is known for being a big proponent of animal rights, and it seems she is more into them than she is into babies, as despite Portia de Rossi’s pleas, the sound of little feet is not something on the horizon in the DeGeneres/de Rossi household anytime soon.
For her part, Portia said in a statement to Page Six, regarding the fact that, according to her, neither she nor Ellen had confirmed that they were even attending the fundraiser, “We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend. This is the first time we have seen our images attached to the invite. It was not approved and it is misleading.”
Meanwhile, Marty Singer, who acts for DeGeneres in a legal capacity, told reporters, “The story is a complete lie. My client told the organizer they never agreed nor planned to attend the event. There was no fight that caused them not to attend.”
As per usual it’s not clear if the “epic” fight in the car ever took place between Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, although in cases such as these, there’s often “no smoke without fire,” so it remains to be seen whether or not the celebrity couple will be a regular feature of the news headlines, as they have been for so long.
