‘The Originals’ Nina Dobrev Appearance Teased: New Details About Tatia
The Originals will feature Nina Dobrev in next week’s episode, and now fans have their first true look at her character on the series. The CW released a preview for The Originals Season 2, Episode 5 titled “Red Door” on Monday night. The network released photos for the episode last week, but the final moments of Monday’s episode and this preview give fans more insight into Dobrev’s appearance on the series.
What is Nina Dobrev’s role? Dobrev is bringing to life another doppelganger. She will star on The Originals as Tatia. This character played an important role in Elijah’s life, according to events from last night’s episode. His mother, Esther, captured him, and she wants to purify him in order to reunite the Mikaelson family.
Scenes from The Originals preview reveal that Tatia and Elijah were very close. His mother is tries to force him to remember Tatia and the events surrounding her presence in his life. Tatia played an important part in the Mikaelson story. She was the first doppelganger of Amara, and it is her blood Esther used to bind Klaus’ werewolf side.
Nina Dobrev is shown briefly in three scenes in the clip. The first shows her with Elijah, and the second shows her running from someone. Nina did reveal in a recent interview that Tatia was involved in a love triangle between Klaus and Elijah, but this clip reveals that she chose Elijah.
Michael Narducci teased a bit about Dobrev’s appearance on The Originals to Entertainment Weekly.
“[Nina Dobrev] got to be in scenes with both of our leads, both Daniel [Gillies] and Joseph [Morgan]. We tell a story that will make you understand her fate, what happened to her, her relationship with both brothers and why what happened between her and the two brothers is so beautiful but also tragic.”
Dobrev also revealed more about her character. She called Tatia the “purest” of all the doppelgangers because she had none of the vampire drama to deal with. She was the first doppelganger, and she had more “hope and innocence” because of that.
Dobrev did share the first photo of Tatia on her Who Says account. Tatia does have a different look than Katherine, Elena, and Amara.
Tatia’s appearance is only part of the action on the next episode. Marcel and Hayley will work together to save Elijah. Charles Michael Davis shared a teaser about Marcel and Hayley’s new working relationship with TV Guide.
“Klaus calls Hayley the wolves’ queen and Marcel is declaring that he’s the king, so there’s a mutual respect there for the royalty.”
Fans have been excited about Nina Dobrev’s appearance on The Originals. The Inquisitr previously reported that Dobrev’s appearance on The Vampire Diaries spin-off stirred up speculation that Dobrev may depart the one series and move to the spin-off. It does not sound like Tatia survived her encounter with the Mikaelson family, so that is not likely.
