NASA Sun-Observing Satellite Captures ‘Earth-Sized’ UFO Near The Sun
An amateur astronomer was watching the live feed of the Sun from a NASA satellite over the weekend, and he caught what he believes is a mysterious UFO.
Backyard astronomer Scott Waring was checking out Helioviewer, which broadcasts, in real time, images of the Sun taken from the sun-observing satellite Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, or SOHO. On October 25, Mr. Waring noticed… something emerging from the Sun, and posted four pictures to the website UFO Sightings Daily.
Now, let’s be clear about this: that something could be any number of things. It could be a camera glitch; it could be a solar flare; it could be one of any number of mundane things that happen naturally on or around the Sun that NASA scientists may (or may not) understand.
Or it could be an extraterrestrial spacecraft. At least, Mr. Waring is certainly going with the UFO angle.
“I check out the SOHO photos everyday, and was fortunate enough to catch this massive ship as it was exiting or entering the sun. This UFO is solid as you can see. It is as large as Earth itself. Look closely at the surface of it. There is no flames or heat changes. It’s [sic] color does not change on its surface…unlike the sun itself which has many mixing colors. Russian scientists alerted the world over 5 years ago to the UFOs that flew around the sun in orbits that suddenly make hard right angles and changes in speed. This is one of them.”
This is not the first time a suspected UFO has been caught by Sun-observing spacecraft; according to this Inquisitr report, a similar “UFO” was spotted circling the Sun in April, 2012. And of course, UFO enthusiasts ran with it.
“[The object is] what looks like a metallic, jointed spaceship with a gigantic extension, perhaps a boom arm, anchored off its lower end.”
Unfortunately for UFO lovers, and those hoping for proof of extraterrestrial intelligence, the supposed “UFO” turned out to be nothing more than cosmic rays, according to Live Science.
This has actually been a rather busy week for the Sun, or at least, for those of us on the Earth observing it, and it’s involved real things that are actually happening naturally in the Solar System and not, you know, wild speculation about UFOs. There was a partial solar eclipse visible over much of North America, and there was the news that a giant sunspot capable of producing massive solar flares is brewing up there.
As for the Sun-adjacent UFO that backyard astronomer Mr. Waring found, as of this post NASA isn’t saying what it is.
