Jessica Simpson and former NFL player Eric Johnson announced their engagement in November 2010 and recently cancelled their wedding plans after Simpson became pregnant and now sources close to the couple say the wedding will still happen…eventually.
A source close to the couple told PEOPLE on Wednesday:
“They’re really excited,” while adding, “It wasn’t something they planned per se, but it’s also not something they were trying to avoid.”
When the insider was asked about the couple’s plans to wed they said:
“They’re both still really committed to getting married, and were both really into making decisions about what kind of wedding they wanted.”
With wedding plans originally scheduled for this month it’s now anyone’s guest as to when the couple will be married.
While Jessica Simpson’s pregnancy has been rumored for quite some time it wasn’t until this past Tuesday that she officially confirmed she was pregnant by tweeting:
“It’s true. I am going to be a mummy.”
In the meantime while her wedding may be on hold Jessica Simpson is hard at work with her fashion line and upcoming judge position for the new NBC reality show “Fashion Star” for which she stars beside another former reality TV star Nicole Ritchie.
