Apple on Wednesday finally admitted that some iPhone 4S users are receiving horrible battery life on their devices and they have promised that a fix is on the way for those users.
According to Apple the issue boils down to an iOS 5 software upgrade:
“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”
Apple’s response comes after various tech boards lit up with complaints from users who swear their iPhone 4S devices have witnessed increased battery failure.
In the meantime users can increase battery life in the short-term by turning off the calendar application in the Notifications Center and by turning off the time-zone feature located under Location Services. Disabling GPS services and other features that are not being currently utilized can also help slow battery drain until a fix is offered.
Despite known battery issues the iPhone 4S continues to break sales records for both AT&T Wireless ans Sprint Wireless in the United States.
