Pippa Middleton Disavows Trendy Diets Like Dukan And Atkins, Takes Simpler Approach
Pippa Middleton is not one for the trendy diets.
Though many have speculated that she is a follower of the Dukan diet, a low-carb plan sweeping the UK, the famous sister of Kate Middleton said she actually has a much more simple approach to keeping her fit figure — common sense diet and exercise.
Pippa Middleton has started to share her fitness secrets with readers of the UK’s Waitrose Weekend, writing a monthly column on health and well-being. Working with a nutritionist and personal trainer, Pippa shares fitness tips and healthy recipes, along with a bit of background on her own personal approach to fitness.
In her first column, Pippa Middleton cleared up misconceptions about her own diet.
“I grew up with the belief that good health is about moderation in all things, so I’ll be celebrating healthy living through exercise, a balanced diet and a little of the naughty stuff sprinkled in — I’m talking chocolate, crisps, and the occasional glass of wine,” she wrote.
“I’ve never done Dukan, attempted Atkins or exercised religiously seven days a week, but I do believe in making healthy choices — keeping refined carbs such as white bread and pasta to a minimum, and sticking to sensible portion sizes.
“I know that if I fit in at least three, ideally five, sessions of exercise a week, be it a 30-minute run, an hour’s walk or a good game of tennis, it boosts my mood and energy, and helps me sleep and digest better. So I make it a priority, whatever the weather or my work schedule.”
Pippa also shared some of her workout routine, including the four key exercises that she said are “quick and great for toning all over” — ladders, plié squats, wall pushes, and the “classic plank.”
Pippa Middleton promised to share more workout secrets, along with her tips for healthy eating in future columns.
