The launch of Tha Carter V has been a long time in coming and Lil Wayne is celebrating its release with a pre-launch party.

Tickets to the event are available online. Prices start at $80 and peak at $750 for VIP. The VIP purchase includes two bottles and entry for four attendees.
Tha Carter V is the upcoming eleventh studio album by American rapper Lil Wayne. The album is scheduled to be released October 28 by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records. The album has been supported by three singles; “Believe Me,” “Krazy” and “Grindin.”
The Inqusitr previously reported on speculations that the production companies would have been releasing the album by surprise , as Lil Wayne was very tight lipped about a release date.
In November 2012, Lil Wayne announced that Tha Carter V would be his final album having stated previously that he would retire at age 35; he explained that he had four kids and that he “would feel selfish still going to the studio when it’s such a vital point in their lives.”
In April 2014, Wayne addressed his Carter V release.
“I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes, and it’s definitely the final Carter album. It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five. I didn’t smile when I said it…I plan on it being my final solo album. Whenever I have to pitch in for a Young Money album, a Like Father, Like Son album and something like that and maybe something out the blue, but the way I’m working on this album, it’s to me, the way it seems like now,it seems like it’ll be impossible for me to work this hard again for anything else”
In an interview appearance on ESPN he spoke about the album artwork .
“I always go with a baby picture and I wanted to go with one with my mom on it this time, ” he said.
The rapper revealed that he didn’t tell his mother he was using her picture.
“I didn’t tell her,” he admitted. “I don’t think she’s going to be upset but I know personally that she don’t really like that picture of herself.”
Back in April Kobe Bryant revealed what some speculated would be Tha Carter V album cover via Twitter.
