Brock Lesnar’s UFC return has everyone speculating, but even Shane Carwin doubts the Beast will turn his back on the WWE at this stage in his career in order to have a MMA rematch. Worse, Carwin even criticizes Lesnar’s ability in the ring, call his fighting abilities “one-dimensional.”
In a related report by The Inquisitr , just yesterday there was a big update on Brock Lesnar’s WWE title defense.
Shane Carwin was the last guy that Brock Lesnar beat inside the Octagon and the UFC fighter is already saying he would be willing to end his retirement in order to face Lesnar again. “I’m all in,” he said. “All the pain would be worth that.” The “pain” he speaks of is how he “basically almost died in that fight” and he believes that “anybody could have tripped me and landed on me” during the second round. But it was Lesnar who managed to put Carwin in a choke hold, ending the championship fight by submission.
Although Carwin would love to be on the match card for Brock Lesnar’s UFC return, the fighter also believes it’s extremely unlikely to happen.
“He’s not coming back,” Carwin said. “I don’t even know why he would have the desire.”
Dana White would probably love to have Brock Lesnar back since he manages to draw some of the biggest PPV numbers ever. For this reason, Vince McMahon and Triple H would hardly want their WWE superstar to up and leave for a major competitor in the sports entertainment business. It would also be presumed that Lesnar’s WWE contract would not let him fight in the UFC for quite a while, but as The Inquisitr previously reported that assumption may not be true.
“Regarding Brock Lesnar possibly doing a UFC fight, word is that his deal with WWE is exclusive to them and doesn’t expire until WrestleMania 31 in 2015. People in the know can’t believe that Vince McMahon would allow Lesnar to sign a deal with WWE that would allow him to do a UFC fight at the same time.”
Jim Ross has also said he believes that Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract expires in either March or April, which of course is the WrestleMania 31 time frame. Regardless, Lesnar has not expressed open interest in the UFC and last we heard from Paul Heyman, the circumstances are unlikely to change as long as Lesnar holds the WWE Championship belt.
“[Brock Lesnar] finally got a clean bill of health. If a change of circumstance happens, and it’s a no-brainer to get Brock back into the cage, I’m sure it’s something he would consider. At this moment, it’s not a topic of conversation because things are going so well in WWE.”
Assuming that Brock does change his mind eventually when WWE Creative scripts a new champion, Shane Carwin also doubts that the Beast could keep up with the new level of ability in the MMA world.
“He’s not going to improve the part of his game he needs to improve in that short (amount) of time,” Carwin said to Fox Sports . “The guys these days are too far ahead. You can’t be one-dimensional. This isn’t the early ’90s.”
Do you think Brock Lesnar should attempt to return to the UFC?
