Bryan Singer Having A Baby With His Best Friend, Will Raise Child Together

Bryan Singer, director of the X-Men movies and Superman Returns, is having a baby with his longtime friend, Michelle Clunie.

Early reports stated that Bryan Singer paid Michelle $1 million to have the baby as a surrogate. However, a recent report from TMZ confirms that Bryan Singer will raise his son (or daughter) with Michelle Clunie.

According to TMZ, Michelle will officially be listed as the child’s mother on the birth certificate and will raise the child as her own.

Inside sources state that Bryan Singer and Michelle Clunie are not romantically involved, but have been close friends for 25 years.

Contrary to earlier reports, Bryan Singer is not paying Michelle Clunie anything for carrying their child. However, the 49-year old film director “will cover living expenses” as informal child support. It is true that Bryan Singer purchased a home for Michelle and his unborn child several doors away from his own home in West Hollywood.

In an interview with BuzzFeed News, Bryan Singer’s official rep confirmed that Bryan and Michelle are expecting their new bundle of joy to arrive in early 2015.

“The pair, who have been best friends for 25 years, are over the moon with the pregnancy. [The two] look forward to co-parenting the child together. The pair have been planning this baby for years and have been trying for the last two.”

Michelle Clunie is mostly known on-screen for her roles as Ellen Beals on the show Make It or Break It, as well as playing the role of Melanie Marcus on the hit Showtime series Queer as Folk.

The 44-year old actress also starred in one episode of the hit FOX series, House M.D., which Bryan Singer produced. Most of Michelle’s acting has been seen on the small screen but she does have a few big-screen acting credits as well — including the role of Dallas’ girl in the 2012 hit movie, Magic Mike. With a baby on the way, Bryan Singer seems to be filling up his personal schedule for 2015 right along with his professional schedule. Currently, he is still working through the casting and pre-production process for the highly-anticipated film, X-Men: Apocalypse.

Even though this follow-up to the summer blockbuster hit, X-Men: Days of Future Past, is not scheduled to be released until May 2016, principal photography for the film is scheduled to start within the next six months.
