‘Glee’s’ Matthew Morrison Marries Girlfriend Renee Puente

It was a gleeful event for actor Matthew Morrison. The Broadway actor-turned-Glee star wedded his longtime girlfriend Renee Puente over the weekend.

According to People Magazine, the pair, who look thrilled in their wedding photos, tied the knot in a ceremony on Saturday. The private celebration held 50 of the couple’s closest family and friends. The celebration was a destination wedding in Maui, Hawaii.

Matthew Morrison’s representative confirmed the joyous news to People. For his wedding, Morrison dressed in a Brooks Brothers tux and his wife wore a Gustavo gown.

Given the actor’s musical background, some tunes were expected at the ceremony. According to People, Morrison had pianist Chad Whidden play a few songs, and was later joined on a song by vocalist Kiley Dean, who sang “Feels Like Home.”

Sticking to her roots, Puente surprised her groom with a Hula performance. Morrison couldn’t sit still, and joined her in the Hula dance for a special routine.

As for guests, since it was a private ceremony, it doesn’t seem like Morrison invited his Glee co-stars. Going by Twitter, most of the cast were busy doing their own thing.

As for Morrison, he has yet to tweet about the nuptials over the weekend, but our guess is that he’s enjoying his wedded bliss with his new bride.

Here’s a look at the happy couple on their big day.

The pair have been dating since 2011. Prior to their relationship, Morrison was engaged to Chrishell Stause, but the two called it quits back in 2006. Morrison proposed to his model girlfriend Renee Puente in June of 2013.

Back in August of 2013, the actor was very open about his wedding plans. The Glee star told E! Online, “It’s going good. We’re really taking our time and having fun with it.”

According to a source, “They are thrilled. It is the first marriage for them both. He loves her so much.”

At the time, the Glee actor shared the happy news with his Twitter followers.

He followed up the tweet with another sweet sentiment for his followers.

“In a world filled with so much negativity, I’m so inspired by all of the positive wishes for our engagement! Means so much to us! Thanks!”
