Research In Motion ( RIM ) this week revealed a limited-time offer that aims to bolster sales of its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to enterprise customers.
Between now and Dec. 31, BlackBerry business customers who purchase two PlayBook tablets from an authorized reseller will get a third PlayBook at no additional cost.
With the lowest priced 16 GB WiFi PlayBook selling for $500, the multiple buy incentive drops the price to just over $330 per device. The $700 64 GB version would drop to about $470 if you buy three. Buyers wanting to cash in on the sale price must buy three of the same versions of the PlayBook.
To make the deal even sweeter, RIM is also throwing in one free premium accessory for every two BlackBerry PlayBook tablets purchased before the end of the year. Customers cashing in can choose between the BlackBerry Leather Sleeve, a BlackBerry Charging Pad, or a six-foot high-speed HDMI cable.
RIM’s B2G1 program comes following the company’s announcement that Playbook OS 2.0 would be delayed forcing an already frustrated Blackberry fan base to wait until Feb 2012 before being able to get their hands on the latest version of the operating system.
