WWE ‘Total Divas’ Fake? Daniel Bryan And Brie Bella Fight Over Money, But Their Net Worth Isn’t That Bad
WWE Total Divas is claiming Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella are fighting over money, according to the reality TV show. But is Daniel Bryan’s net worth really in so much trouble that he has to take away Brie’s credit cards?
In a related report by The Inquisitr, a recent episode of Total Divas suggested Daniel Bryan was relying on alternative medicine instead of surgery, but in reality Bryan’s WWE future in doubt because it’s believed he may need to have Tommy John Surgery on his arm, which in the worst case scenario could cause the leader of the Yes Movement to miss both Royal Rumble 2015 and WrestleMania 31.
Daniel Bryan’s neck injury is the major issues preventing him from wrestling in the ring at the moment, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be in Total Divas. The upcoming episode for this weekend has Daniel and Brie supposedly knocking heads like goats because Bryan is hesitant to spend money. When Brie treats her family to a $400 dinner for her mom’s birthday, Daniel is upset, and sets it up with the bank so that every time a credit card is used he will receive a notification via his smartphone. Of course, that leaves Brie feeling slightly upset based upon all the Total Divas drama.
The WWE Universe will likely react to this “news” by calling WWE Total Divas fake and scripted. The reason is that Daniel Bryan’s net worth is estimated at $2 million, while Brie Bella’s net worth is believed to be $1 million. Daniel makes most of his money from his $675k a year salary in the WWE, but he is also paid to be part of Total Divas, which is said to be part of the reason his net worth shot up in 2014. The WWE superstar also continues to make money on merchandise, so he’s not exactly in danger of being a pauper any time soon, which makes fights over a $400 check seem very contrived.
Of course, Brie Bella denies the WWE writers have made Total Divas fake in its entirety.
“We’re not scripted,” Brie told Bleacher Report. “You totally come into our lives. We’re an open book. Whatever happens, the cameras are on and we just let go. ‘Raw’ and ‘SmackDown’ are scripted shows and we’re characters. I think that’s one thing that’s going to be really cool. You know our characters from ‘Raw,’ but you’ll get to see who are in real life on ‘Total Divas.'”
But Richard Gray of Wrestling New World calls Total Divas fake, saying every major detail is scripted.
“‘Total Divas’ is completely scripted. Yes, there are real-life aspects (such as the partner relationships) but everything else is made for TV. I’m sure there are some ‘slip-ups’ and legitimate moments that find there way onto final versions, however, it’s just like any other reality series. The purpose of ‘Total Divas’ is to expand the company’s demographics by bolstering the female audience.”
Still, there is the niggling possibility that it’s not all completely fake. It’s said that if your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep will be your downfall. Both Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella may be millionaires, but in the past, other rich sports stars have managed to blow through all their money and end up broke. Even if their income is still very generous compared to the average American, it’s possible their fixed expenses (like that nice house in Arcadia) is straining their budget.
