Taylor Swift Purrs For Kittens And Diet Coke In Meow-Worthy Ad: Meet Her Cats [Video]
It’s a purr-fect world if you’re Taylor Swift’s cat. The fluffy feline is named Olivia Benson, and she made her very first official TV debut as the co-star of Taylor’s new Diet Coke commercial. The dynamic duo were joined by a room filled with kittens, who pawed their way to stardom. Taylor revealed how the advertisement was filmed in an Access Hollywood interview.
Initially, admitted Swift, the producers even hesitated to admit the concept to her. The idea of having kittens appear every time she sipped Diet Coke seemed more eccentric than Blake Shelton wearing designer shades. But just as Blake has his secret chic side, Taylor has a purring passion for cats, as shown in the video.

They initially filmed the scene using a stuffed animal. But when the actual cameras rolled, they used a combination of clever background changes and placid purring cats to create the actual scene. Taylor tweeted the clip with her reaction to the purr-trayal.
“Behold, the Diet Coke ad that depicts my perfect world. Featuring a new song and Olivia, who is now a cat actress.”
The new song is from Taylor’s upcoming album, 1989, which is scheduled to release October 27, according to the New York Daily News. The chorus, alas, does not include any mention of cats.
But although she has yet to devote an album to her pets, Swift is the devoted owner of two cats, Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey. She named them after the leading stars on her favorite TV shows, Law & Order: SVU and Grey’s Anatomy, revealed the Today show.
Both cats are Scottish folds, known for their unique ears. But it’s Olivia who has become famous, after Taylor was photographed carrying her around New York City.
Taylor’s love of cats is so well known that Keds even named a black canvas sneaker featuring an adorable cat face for her pet passion. The style is called “the Sneaky Cat” and has her birthdate, 12-13-89, emblazoned on the heel.
But not everyone is a fan of Taylor Swift’s cats. John Cleese infamously insulted Olivia Benson on the BBC. Watch the video below to see the fur fly.
So what else is in Taylor’s future? As the Inquisitr revealed, Taylor Swift recently confessed that she loved Blake Shelton’s pizza ads. Is it possible that she and Blake might team up for a pizza and Diet Coke commercial — with a few cats as the chorus?
