Nick Cannon Helps Break Selfie Record, Taking Mariah Carey Break Up ‘In Stride’

Nick Cannon is a busy man these days. When he’s not hosting America’s Got Talent or managing his acting career, the 34-year old entertainer is busy breaking records for a good cause.

According to CBS News, Cannon was in Los Angeles this week with Julianne Hough and Habitat LA to help break the “Selfie Relay Chain” Guinness World Record. The “Relay Chain” consists of snapping as many consecutive selfies as one can do in a row. With the help of the Samsung NX compact camera Nick and Julianne broke the previous record of 279 selfies with a whopping 283. In exchange for their efforts, “Samsung is now donating $50,000 to Habitat LA to build and renovate more homes throughout greater Los Angeles for low-income families and individuals.”

As great a story as that is, Nick Cannon has been in the news this year more for his personal life than for his charity work. His high profile separation from his wife, Mariah Carey, has lead to much speculation over the cause for their demise. But Nick tells CBS News that he is simply doing the best he can about the situation, “taking it in stride” and not truly revealing much to the public:

“You know what? You just take it one day at a time. And try to be the best human you can possibly be. Try to be as classy and respectful as you possibly can and you ask for that in return. And hopefully it works out that way.”

Meanwhile, Cannon has responded to rumors surrounding his supposed relationship with model Amber Rose. As reported by Inquistr, the pair have supposedly become an item following the demise of both their previous relationships.

But according to the Huffington Post, Cannon refutes this notion that the pair are more than just simply business associates:

“I think the wound’s too fresh to even be thinking about that right now. That’s someone that I’m managing. I’m really excited about everything she’s about to do in her career and building her brand. I manage a lot of people, but obviously that’s one, because she’s in the news as well and kind of a public figure, people just kind of latched onto that as the media does at times.”

Whether or not Nick is telling the truth about the rumored relationship remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain: Nick is extremely excited about managing Amber’s career. He told US Weekly: “We’re super excited about her brand. I feel like she’s one of those people who are truly an icon when it comes to fashion, style, and even just someone in pop culture.”
