Gretchen Rossi And Slade Smiley Set Wedding Date

Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley have set a wedding date. The former Real Housewives of Orange County couple announced on Watch What Happens Live Wednesday night that they have a definite date for their nuptials.

As All About the Real Housewives recaps, host Andy Cohen got right to the point when he asked the pair why they’re not married yet.

“Why aren’t you married yet? What’s the hold up?”

“There is no hold up,” Gretchen answers, “We have a date. We have a location.”

“May 25th!” Slade says.

Gretchen corrects her fiancé, however. It’s actually May 23, she tells him.

Andy asks Gretchen if her engagement to Slade was an attempt to stay on RHOC and she threw her arms up with a big “no.”

“No! Absolutely not! Who does that? Who would even do that? It doesn’t make sense. I mean, it’s so stupid,” Rossi asserts.

“I was trying to propose to her for three seasons,” Slade adds.

Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley are also working to have a baby. Gretchen speaks with OK! magazine about their journey so far.

Up to this point, Slade and Gretchen have undergone surgical procedures to help with conceiving a baby. Rossi had some eggs retrieved and a sperm extraction was performed on Slade. In spite of 14 embryos being fertilized, none of them survived long enough for implantation.

“I was devastated,” Gretchen shares. “You feel this huge sense of loss. I need to regroup, feel strong, and mentally prepare to do this again.”

Slade already has two sons, but hates seeing his fiancee go through so much pain. Gretchen wants to continue with IVF for as long as they “can handle it.”

Gretchen and Slade are open to adoption or surrogacy. The two of them will appear on the October 17 episode of The Doctors to talk about their difficult story.

In a previous interview, the reality TV stars said they wanted a fall wedding, but that it would likely change — which it did. They wanted to have a baby before the wedding, if possible.

Hopefully the next IVF procedure will go well and the couple will have the child they want. Gretchen says it doesn’t matter if it’s a boy or a girl. Since Slade has two sons, she says it would be nice to “change things up” a little bit by having a girl.
