Tony Stark Set For ‘Captain America 3’: Is ‘Agents Of SHIELD’ Next?
Tony Stark will appear in Captain America 3. However, there is a chance that fans could see a lot more of Robert Downey Jr. and Tony Stark in the near future. Tony Stark could soon appear on the small screen in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on ABC. Downey is open to the idea of a cameo appearance on the television series, which is currently airing Season 2 on ABC. International Business Times reported on a recent Reddit AMA Robert Downey Jr. participated in to promote his current film release The Judge.
Downey revealed during the session that he would be willing to appear on the television series. Tony Stark would not be the first Marvel character to appear on Agents of SHIELD. Fans have already seen Maria Hill, Nick Fury, and Lady Sif on the television series. However, an appearance by Tony Stark, one of the main team members of the Avengers, would be something entirely different. It would take the series to a new level.
Fans will definitely see more of Tony Stark and Iron Man in future Marvel projects. Iron Man is a major player in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Tony Stark will play a major role in Captain America 3. According to Just Jared, the plot of that film will have Stark battling Steve Rogers over the Superhero Registration Act. The law would require anyone with super abilities to report to the U.S. government. Stark will support the law, and Rogers will be against it.
As for Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans did receive their first look at the new film at New York Comic Con, and the film will introduce two new characters, according to Hallels. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will appear in the new Avengers film.
What about the possibility of Iron Man 4? There has been speculation about the return of Tony Stark for a fourth film in that franchise. Robert Downey Jr. and his comments made during recent interviews promoting The Judge have caused much of the speculation, according to a previously released report by Inquisitr.
At this time, there are no plans to make Iron Man 4. Downey confirmed that when he stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman.
“There’s no plans for an ‘Iron Man 4.’ There’s no script for an ‘Iron Man 4,’ but [Marvel] does have a plan and I think [Marvel is] going to announce it. They’ve been very secretive about it. Just between us, no. But I’m going to do other stuff with Marvel. I’m still going to be involved with Marvel, and there’s going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen.”
This has created new speculation that another actor will take on the role of Iron Man to continue the franchise. What do you think? Do you want to see more of Tony Stark? Would you want to see Stark appear on Agents of SHIELD?
