‘The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies’ Stunning Character Posters Keep Coming
As the release date approaches for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, the Warner Bros. PR machine is pulling all the stops. Fans have been inundated with stunning character posters for the last few days and nobody’s complaining about the onslaught.
Dubbed “The Defining Chapter”, this is the last in the three installments that make up Peter Jackson’s trilogy. The adaptation of the J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic novel was supposed to be made up of two films, but the director felt he could do the same he did for his other famous trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. True fans did not complain.
The new character posters and banners released are simply stunning and have an aura of desperation as the story comes to its conclusion. The battle of the five armies is where all the different factions that we have been previously introduced to face-off in one final epic clash.
In the previous chapter, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, things turned dire for Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and the company of dwarves, who seek their long lost home of Erebor. Up until now the group has stuck together, along with The Hobbit (Martin Freeman) and the Wizard, Gandalf, who are helping them reach their objective, but now they are forced to break up.
In their way stands the feared dragon, Smaug, a beast that has been sleeping for decades and is guarding the treasure hidden in the belly of the Misty Mountain. Once the creature is unleashed it will surely bring death and destruction to the residents of Laketown, where Bard the Bowman, a dragon slayer lives in constant fear.
Peter Jackson has promised that The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will not disappoint and fans are more than excited to see the trickle of new promotional material shared by the studio in anticipation of the epic movie’s release. We await the also promised trailer Jackson announced at the time of the San Diego Comic Con.
This year we saw no panel for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies at the popular convention because, as Jackson explained, he was very busy putting on the final touches to his last ever Middle Earth production and wanted everything to be perfect.
The images are stunning and speak of the dark times all those involved in the upcoming confrontation live in. Here are the character posters released so far.
